On December 12th, 2001, a small single engine plane went down in the fog near Jacksonville International Airport. Air traffic controllers diverted the plane from Craig Field to the international airport due to dangerous weather conditions but allegedly failed to keep the pilot updated. All four people aboard were killed and their families were recently awarded $9.5 million from the Federal Aviation Administration. (Mar-09-05)
