Former Housing Department employee, Ava Hinton, filed a lawsuit against the city for wrongful termination. Hinton allegedly raised questions about a troubled small business loan program and her position was terminated soon after. Under the settlement Hinton was awarded $162,500 for emotional damages, $90,000 in back pay, and $5,500 in city retirement benefits. (May-02-05)
