When I last contacted them, I was told that I didn't work there long enough to be fully vested, but my account summary for 4/1/1999 says that the $272.32 was the total vested amount. I believe I was required to be employed by them for 3 years. However, the company did not stay under the same roof for 3 years, but I did; meaning the company left, not me (which I believe may be the problem).
They opened a new Westin Hotel just a few blocks away and are still there today. I was told by an employee that I worked with that there is a same roof rule that they were supposed to abide by since they were the ones that left. The phone number that I have for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Savings and Retirement Line has been taken by some other company. I'd really like to know where I stand with this today. Do they still owe me the investment. Lastly, Westin provided the seed money for these employee accounts (does that make a difference)?
