Mosaic Fertilizer

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission fined the phosphate company after a spill polluted Polk County water in 2004. Mosaic has agreed to a $270,000 fine. With state approval, the phosphate industry has dumped 250 million gallons of treated water into streams. (Jul-03-05)
