LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Central Montgomery Medical Center
A lawsuit was filed against the center alleging improper use of restraints on 91 patients over two years. In one incident, an elderly woman with Alzheimer's suffocated to death after she rolled over the side of her hospital bed still attached by a restraint. The 125 bed hospital and its management company, UHS of Delaware, Inc., have agreed to pay the government $200,000 and to hire an outside consultant to review how restraints are used. (Jul-25-05)
