Cameron County filed a lawsuit against Mark Schultz's company which designed the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center and Sheriff's Administration Building near Olmito. The lawsuit claimed faulty design and construction of the facilities. The Austin based firm, now known as Faulkner USA, has agreed to pay Cameron County a $12 million settlement. They will also join the county in litigation in state District Court against dozens of subcontractors to try to recover $8 million. (Jul-30-05) [BROWNSVILLE HERALD]
