Harvard University

The U.S. government filed a lawsuit against the University and one of its professors for allegedly illegally making a personal fortune from his work by helping Russia privatize hundreds of companies. Professor Andrei Shleifer was found guilty of inappropriately investing in the same financial markets he was charged with creating in Russia. Harvard University and Shleifer have agreed to pay $30 million to settle the civil charges. (Aug-05-05) [INDEPENDENT NEWS]
