Schlegel Builders Inc. and Deck & Sons

In April 2002, Michael Helffrich was inspecting construction soil at a Kutztown site where a car dealership was being built. A bulldozer hit Helffrich and severed the lower part of his right calf. Helffrich filed a lawsuit against the construction company and contractor claiming they were negligent in not providing him with an adequately safe work environment. Schlegel and Deck & Sons will pay Helffrich a $1.55 million workers compensation settlement. (Aug-26-05) [LAW NEWS]
