LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Escondido City and JRMC Real Estate
A lawsuit was filed against the developer and the city for allegedly violating water quality restrictions at the new Escondido Research and Technology Center. The lawsuit claimed JRMC caused sediment from the site to flow into Escondido Creek directly or through storm drains, which can harm aquatic life. The complaint also alleged the developer failed to carry out an adequate plan to prevent storm runoff. The San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board has approved a settlement where Escondido will pay $50,000 and JRMC will pay $400,000. (Sep-16-05)
