Ohio State
In 1997, at the age of 28, Nathaniel Lewis was convicted of raping a fellow University of Akron student. He spent five years in prison before his conviction was overturned and was released in 2002. Lewis' accuser testified that he forced her to have intercourse in her dorm room; however, later a diary entry suggested the act was consensual. Lewis was awarded a $662,000 settlement for his wrongful conviction and imprisonment. (Sep-29-05)
