Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire

Ford Motor Co. filed a lawsuit against the tire manufacturer relating to the 2000 recall of defective tires. Bridgestone recalled 6.5 million tires and in 2001 Ford had to cover the costs of a tire replacement program. Over 270 people were reportedly killed and hundreds more were injured in accidents involving Firestone ATX and AT tires. Bridgestone has agreed to pay Ford a $240 million settlement. (Oct-12-05)
