Rebecca Clark Bowman had a hereditary heart condition that went undiagnosed after visiting Brooke Army Medical Center as well as Northeast Methodist. Shortly after she was released from Methodist, Bowman went into cardiac arrest and suffered brain damage that has left her unable to speak. "The jury returned a $16.6 million verdict and ruled Methodist was 44 percent liable, that BAMC was 30 percent liable and that Dr. Rene B. Lopez was 26 percent liable."
