LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Oak Forest Hospital
In May 2004, mother of two, Neveen Morkos went to the hospital complaining of stomach pains. She suffered severe brain damage while in surgery at Oak Forest Hospital. Her family filed a lawsuit that claimed she was misdiagnosed with appendicitis before being sent for emergency surgery. The suit also alleged an anesthesiologist improperly inserted a breathing tube during the surgery that left her without oxygen for more than 10 minutes. Cook County commissioners have approved a $35 million settlement for her damages. (Oct-06-05)
