The Drug Enforcement Agency audited seven King Soopers pharmacies and discovered multiple violations of the Controlled Substances Act. The Drug Enforcement Agency filed charges against the nation's largest retail grocery chain and two of its subsidiaries, King Soopers and City Market. Kroger Co. has agreed to pay a $7 million settlement as well as start a corporate wide compliance program to improve their pharmaceutical controls. (Oct-25-05)
