In February 2003, Stephanie Tunc and her sister Sandrine Tunc were sun tanning on Miami Beach when they were run over by a sport utility vehicle driven by Miami Beach police officer George Varon. Stephanie was killed in the accident while her sister Sandrine survived with a punctured leg, lacerated liver, and tire burns.
