State of Iowa and Dr. William Campbell

On February 8 2003, a 57-year-old Glenwood Resource Center female staff member was attacked and raped by a mentally retarded client, Donald Young. He was found competent to stand trial, found guilty of sexual assault and is currently serving a 10 year sentence. The woman filed a lawsuit against the state of Iowa and her employer's former director, Dr. William Campbell, claiming they were negligent in protecting her. The state has agreed to pay her a $480,000 settlement. (Jan14-06) [Z WIRE]
