Wayne County
While Philip Abraham was working on technology for the county, he discovered phantom users changing judicial instructions, altering billing rates and fabricating children. After reporting the allegations to supervisors, Abraham's position was terminated. He took this case to the FBI and filed a lawsuit against his former employer for workplace retaliation, wrongful termination and violating the Michigan state Whistleblowers' Protection Act. Abraham accused county officials of firing him because he alleged wrongdoing in juvenile justice programs. The Wayne County Commission Committee admitted no wrongdoing, but agreed to a $75,000 out of court settlement to avoid the cost of trial. (Feb-08-06)
