Operations Management International, Inc.
A U.S. attorney's office filed claims against the wastewater treatment plant for allegedly violating its discharge permit 15 times between January 2001 and October 2002 by exceeding the chlorine limits and failing to report the results. Operations Management International has substantially agreed to change its operations and environmental oversight, including a nationwide compliance effort that cost more than $6 million. The company will also contribute $1 million to the Greater New Haven Water Pollution Authority to pay for plant upgrades and $1 million to an environmental studies program at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London. Operations Management International has also agreed to pay a $2 million fine. (Feb-08-06)
