Gateway Inc.

Hewlett-Packard Co. filed a lawsuit against its personal computer industry rival alleging infringement of 27 patents made from 1999 to the present. A new seven year cross licensing agreement between Gateway and Hewlett-Packard Co. has been arranged and awards HP a $47 million patent settlement. Gateway shares fell $0.08 to close at $2.28 while HP shares rose 4% to $34.05. (Mar-01-06) [MARKET WATCH]
