Thayer Learning Center

Late October, 2004 Roberto Reyes was sent to the northwest Missouri boot camp. On November 3, 2004 the 15-year-old California teenager was bit by a spider and later died. Roberto's parents filed a lawsuit against the home for troubled teens for allegedly failing to provide access to appropriate medical evaluation and treatment. The Thayer Learning Center has agreed to a $1.05 million wrongful death settlement and will establish a scholarship fund in memory of Roberto Reyes at his former high school in California.
