Emergency Debt Relief

The state of Florida filed a lawsuit against the debt company for allegedly fraudulently claiming it could reduce consumers' payments to creditors by as much as 50 percent. Emergency Debt Relief charged an 18 percent monthly fee based on the consumer's total indebtedness and failed to negotiate the debt even after being paid by consumers. The debt company has agreed to a settlement under which it will pay $230,000 to reimburse consumers. (Apr-27-06) [JACKSONVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL]

After they took my money, they dropped me from the program and I had to file bankruptcy. I had a number of creditors and only ONE was negotiated by them and settled before they dropped me from the program. I understand there was already a settlement against them.

This company fails to respond to any of my correspondence. I have over $1400 at the Rocky Mountain Bank (used by EDR). I want my money and I've found they have settled lawsuits in Florida because they are a fraudulent company.

EDR took money which they had considered fees. After the "fees" were paid, they then told us that they were unable to help us. They never once attempted to settle a debt, and further more wanted us to sign a contract stating we would not come back and sue them.

I did not receive the help that was promised. I put in writing that nothing was being done and I wanted my money back. After several years of trying to get my money back, I ended up in Bankruptcy.
