Shoreline Amphitheatre

Mountain View City filed charges against the popular outdoor music arena for allegedly hiding revenues to avoid paying full rent; Shoreline's rent was based on concert revenues. An audit claimed the city was owed $15.6 million in back rent and penalties on about $58 million in unreported revenues from 1998 to 2004. Shoreline Amphitheatre will pay the city of Mountain View a $10 million lump sum settlement and pay $1.8 million each year for flat-rate rent. (May-11-06) [SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS]
