This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.
The U.S. Department of Defense filed charges against the diversified manufacturer regarding Pratt & Whitney's cost accounting for engine parts on commercial engine collaboration programs from 1984 through 2004. The lawsuit centered on the allocation of overhead costs between commercial and government programs. United Technologies has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense to pay a $283 million settlement regarding the government contract accounting matters. (Jun-06-07)
