LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Hoodiaforfree and Ultralife Fitness
Complaints against Hoodiaforfree and Ultralife Fitness began last August, 2005 when consumers claimed that as soon as they provided the companies with their credit or debit card numbers to receive a free sample of a dietary aid, both companies added more products to their cards without authorization. The customers thought they would only have to pay shipping charges for free products. The terms and conditions of the sales were hidden on the companies' websites.
Settlements state that the two Utah online business men, Jason Brailow of Sandy and Neil Wardle of South Jordan, must make refunds to division-verified victims through May, 2007, but others could still make claims through civil suits. The men have agreed to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in refunds claimed by clients of Hoodiaforfree and Ultralife Fitness and other associated companies.
Utah state has levied $100,000 in fines. So far, Brailow and his companies have paid out $32,559 to 325 victims. Wardle and Ultralife have refunded $16,000 to 335 victims. (Jun-07-06) [SALT LAKE TRIBUNE]
