C.C. Myers Inc.
While building the Maxwell Bridge on Napa River in 2003, a construction accident resulted in the death of bridge worker Richard "Chris" Stevens and injured seven others. A lawsuit charged C.C. Myers Inc of violating one labor code law and breaking a regulation involving falsework shoring standards. The suit alleged that the Rancho-Cordova based construction company failed to coordinate and control the work being performed on the job site in a safe and proper manner. C.C. Myers agreed to a $90,000 civil settlement and the company placed $10,000 in a trust for the Stevens family. (Jun-28-06)
