Tempo Real Estate Corporation

On July 26th, 2003 nearly three-year-old Jonathan Flores entered the pool area of his parents' apartment complex through a broken gate at The Cliffs. He fell into the pool and drowned to death. Tempo Real Estate Corporation had been cited 21 times by the DeKalb County Board of Health because the broken pool gate was neither self-closing nor self-latching. The boy's parents, Raul Jaimes Benitez and Oralia Flores Rivera filed a lawsuit against Tempo for their loss. Tempo Real Estate Corporation has agreed to pay the family a $2.5 million settlement.
