Dr. Ronald McGee

In June 2000, at the age of 61, Marvin Doniger went to Dr. McGee when he was urinating blood. McGee suggested Doniger had a kidney stone, and told him to do nothing unless he experienced the symptoms again. Six months later, Doniger was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After three surgeries and 18 months of physical therapy, Doniger walks with a cane and urinates into a bag attached to his stomach. He filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against his primary care physician in Orange County Superior Court. A jury has awarded Doniger a $3.3 million settlement. (Aug-30-06) [ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER]
