Staten Island - On April 7, 2004 Anna Marie DeSimone was traveling on Avenue Z in the Gravesend section when she stopped to make a left turn at the intersection with East 12th Street. A tractor trailer rear ended DeSimone's 2001 Volkswagen sedan, she suffered left shoulder injuries that included a partial tear of her rotator cuff and was taken by ambulance to Coney Island Hospital. She underwent shoulder surgery and filed a personal injury lawsuit against the tractor trailer driver and owner.
