Steven Markovitz

Washington - Securities and Exchange Commission regulators filed charges against the Millennium Partners former trader after he allegedly violated a settlement reached in 2003. The previous late trading settlement banned Markovitz from associating with investment advisers. He formed an investment adviser incorporated called Saxum Ltd. in the Cayman Islands, but did business within the US. He also formed Saxum Investments and began soliciting investors in Brazil, Great Britain, and Switzerland. Markovitz has agreed to pay a $400,000 civil penalty for late trading and $170,000 in fines and disgorgement for violating the earlier order. (Oct-11-06) [HOUSTON CHRONICLE: MARKOVITZ]
