London, ENGLAND: Two lawsuits were filed in the United States by catering competitors claiming damages following allegations of corrupt activities in some of its contracts with the United Nations. ES-KO International Inc. of Monaco and Switzerland's Supreme Foodservice claimed Compass' Eurest Support Services unit improperly obtained confidential information concerning a three-year contract to supply food and water to peacekeepers in Liberia. Compass Group admitted no legal liability in reaching the settlements, but said the total costs relating to the settlements were less than 40 million pounds or $74 million USD.
