Centex Inc.

Washington: In July 2006, Centex completed the sale of Centex Home Equity Co. to Fortress Investment Group, resulting in $540 million in after-tax proceeds. Fortress Investment Group filed a lawsuit against the home builder seeking funds for its post closing adjustments from the sale of its lending operation. Centex will pay a $17 million settlement.
