City of Gladewater

Gladewater, TX: In June 2005, Jonathan Jamile King, a hit-and-run suspect, was shot to death by Gladewater police officer Bryan Naismith in an Upshur County pasture three miles west of the city limits. Amanda Caton, the mother of King's toddler daughter and son sued the city and Naismith. The officer was cleared of any wrongdoing, but was fired from the department.
