Clarksville Police Department
Clarksville, TN: The Clarksville City Council has settled three lawsuits out of 14 filed for discrimination, by current and former police officers. One was dismissed, and two have been settled out of court for a total of $265,000. The city is appealing federal jury awards of $775,000 to three officers. Seven other lawsuits have yet to go to trial. Clarksville City Council has accepted the separate severance agreements with Clarksville Police Chief Mark Smith and Deputy Chief Bob Davis. The deal will be cinched with the second vote. (Jan-29-07)
