Milpitas, CA: (Feb-07-07) In a lawsuit charging international contractor, Turner Construction and San Francisco's Studios Architecture, with misrepresentation of facts and failure to stick to the contract, the city of Milpitas won a $4.5 million settlement. The $38 million City Hall project was finally completed in 2002, a year later than scheduled and $4 million over budget. The suit alleged that Turner misrepresented the state of the project, failed to keep Milpitas officials informed of delays and schedule changes, and ailed to weatherproof the building that lead to water damage in the interior drywall.
