Summit Refrigeration Group

Menomonee Falls, WI: (Feb-16-07) The co-owners of Summit Refrigeration Group pleaded guilty in 2006 to a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of a computer. The case first charged the three owners, Michael P. Conti, Frederick Anderson and Richard DeGroot, with trade secrets violations; a felony under the US corporate espionage law. The lawsuit addressed the issue of the removal of files and materials from the Brookfield office of Dual Temp, a commercial refrigeration contractor, by the three men just before they founded Summit. As part of the settlement, officials agreed to drop felony charges and Summit agreed to plead guilty to lesser charges, paying $1.4 million as restitution to Dual Temp. The three will not have to serve part of their sentence in a halfway house. [JS ONLINE: TRADE SECRETS]
