Fort Worth, TX

Fort Worth, TX: (Mar-04-07) A downtown park reopening was marked with an unveiling of plaques honoring six people who died from accidents at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. The pool was the site where four Chicago tourists drowned; one girl had apparently slipped into the swirling pool, and two other children and a man died trying to save her. Of the four police officers who jumped into the pool, two were swept under by the current. The families of the victims sued Fort Worth and reached a $750,000 out-of-court settlement that did not include an admission of liability. [HOUSTON CHRONICLE: SWIRLING POOL DROWNINGS]
