Washington, DC: (Feb-27-07) Delta Air Lines Inc. was booked with charges by the US Department of Labor over the airline's use of funds from its family-care disability and survivorship plan to cover the cost of severance payments made to employees in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. A judge approved a settlement and ordered Delta Air Lines Inc. to pay $70 million to the air carrier's benefit plan, ending the department's probe.
