Clear Channel Outdoor, Steen and CBS Outdoor

Philadelphia, PA: (Mar-12-07) A lawsuit was filed by the Society Created to Reduce Urban Blight against outdoor advertisers, Clear Channel, Steen and CBS Outdoor, charging them with illegal billboards that violates citizens' constitutional rights and their rights under state law. They further alleged that the agreement between the city and the outdoor advertisers repeals or relaxes sections of the zoning code and strips legislators and citizens of the right to challenge the legality of those companies' billboards. In a settlement reached, Clear Channel Outdoor agreed to pay a sum of approximately $350,000 to remove the illegal signs. [THE BULLETIN: ILLEGAL ADVERTISING]
