Tallahassee, FL :(Mar-15-07) The parents of 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson, Gina Jones and Robert Anderson, received a $5 million settlement after their son died following a violent restraint at a Panhandle boot camp. Autopsy reports show that the youth suffocated when the guards shoved ammonia capsules up his nose. Using a time stamp inserted into the enhanced video by NASA engineers, prosecutors prepared a minute-by-minute timeline of the morning that guards restrained Anderson. It shows boot camp guards stuck ammonia capsules up Anderson's nose seven times in 19 minutes. At least three times, they covered the youth's mouth while the ammonia filled his nostrils. The footage also showed that guards pummeled Anderson with 16 punches to the arm and three to the back of the leg.
