Glendale, AZ: (Mar-15-07) A lawsuit was filed against the city of Glendale by Nazifa Zafari, the mother of Yalda Zafari, a junior at Alhambra High School. The lawsuit claimed that the city was responsible for the wrongful death of Yalda Zafari. The 16-year-old student was fatally struck by a motorist on her way to school. The lawsuit claimed Glendale was at fault because a pedestrian control button had been disabled and the signal lights malfunctioned.
