Willamina, OR: (Mar-15-07) Aileen Bono, former West Valley Fire District firefighter and paramedic, filed suit against Fire Chief Chuck Eddings, Clerk Lisa Hargitt, board members Gary Brooks, Bob Chapin, Twila Hill, Derek Ivy, and Rick Mishler, former board members Dale Lux, Vern Mosser, and Don Smith, and volunteers Kevin Bolen, Kirk Harless and David Jensen. The lawsuit accused the group of sexual discrimination, wrongful termination, defamation, retaliation, and fraud. Bono claimed she had endured sexually demeaning behavior and was past over for promotions. She had suffered retaliation after she complained to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and was subjected to intimidation, further harassment, threatened civil and criminal action on ethics charges, and threatened termination from her job.
