Log Cabin Partners LLC
Grand Haven, MI: (Apr-18-07) Grand Haven Township filed a lawsuit in Ottawa County 20th Circuit Court against Log Cabin Partners LLC in 2006, after the company gave the OK for a tree-cutting crew to clear-cut 517 trees that were 8 inches or more in diameter, violating a township overlay district ordinance. Log Cabin Partners LLC, which consists of Daniel Dykgraaph, Gary Genzink, Wade Slagh and Charles Gebben, were issued a temporary restraining order for the property, which remained in effect until a settlement was reached. As part of the settlement agreement, the owners of the 10-acre parcel will pay the Township $27,500. In addition to the fine, the settlement also stipulates that Log Cabin Partners must reimburse all the township's cost and legal fees, which is estimated at $20,000 and that they must remove all of the fallen 517 trees that were cut on September 12, 2006, within 45 days.
