The impact sent her flying six feet in the air and 76 feet down the street. In a settlement reached, after a grueling fight, the city agreed to end the suit by awarding Jones $375,000. $117,752 of the settlement will be paid by the city, while the remaining $257,248 will come from Durham's liability insurance provider. The city's legal fee, which is believed to be more than $200,000, will also be covered by insurance.
