US Postal Service
New York, NY: (May-31-07) A worker disability discrimination lawsuit was filed against the US Postal Service, alleging that the Postal Service discriminated against disabled employees by putting them in dead-end "rehabilitation" jobs and denying them promotions. The suit stated that others got ahead in the department, because they were not disabled, showing an apparent differentiation and discrimination. Over 7,500 workers attested to the claims. In a settlement reached, the Postal Service agreed to pay $61 million to resolve the more than 7,500 worker disability discrimination claims.
