KSLG-AM St. Louis
St. Louis, MO: (Jun-21-07) The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) brought charges against Sports KSLG-AM (1380 ESPN)/St. Louis, alleging that the sports station did not take sufficient steps to ensure operation of its daytime signal at night between October 1, 2006 and January 31, 2007. The commission issued a notice on January 30, 2007, and the company has taken a series of actions to prevent further power change failures.
In a settlement reached, KSLG-AM (1380 ESPN)/St. Louis has agreed to pay $25,000 in consent decree that ends the FCC investigation. As part of the settlement, the Simmons/Austin-owned station will make a voluntary contribution to the US Treasury. Simmons and the Enforcement Bureau acknowledged that any proceedings that might result from the investigation would require the significant expenditure of public and private resources.
