LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
University of Missouri at Kansas City
Kansas City, MO: (Jul-12-07) Two University of Missouri at Kansas City students brought a lawsuit against the university, alleging that they were sexually harassed by two professors, Dr. Kenneth Haddock and Dr. Charles Poston. According to the lawsuit, at least five women left the psychology lab because of on-going harassment and inappropriate touching. The suit claimed that the students who used the psychology lab, a nondescript building off Troost Avenue, were subjected to classroom porn and inappropriate touching. A lot of talk, with sexual innuendoes and sexually explicit comments were listed in the complaint. The professors regularly had pornographic images on their computers. Despite a complaint filed with a list of 18 witnesses, the University found no wrongdoing. In a settlement reached, it however agreed to pay the plaintiffs a $1 million settlement to resolve the lawsuit. Haddock and Poston, the two accused professors, have since been promoted.
