Timothy Hudson

This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.

Sanford, FL: (Jul-22-07) Seminole County brought a lawsuit against Timothy Hudson, former Sanford Housing Authority executive director, alleging that he breached his contract with the county after his private construction company failed to build and sell eight affordable homes to qualified low-income buyers. The suit was filed in early 2002, detailing problems Hudson had fulfilling the contract's requirements and how his private business dealings influenced his job running the public-housing agency. Hudson and his construction company, TDH & Associates, received a $65,000 subsidy to build the eight single-family homes. But Hudson's company built only two houses in the Midway community, east of Sanford. He then sold both houses to a longtime friend, who then rented them to former public-housing tenants. The friend did not qualify as a low-income buyer and the homes were supposed to be owner-occupied, not rentals. Hudson further used housing-authority funds to subsidize most of the $750-a-month rent for each home. In a settlement reached, Hudson agreed to pay the county $47,500 to resolve the allegations.
