Robert Singer
This is a settlement for the Car Accidents (National) lawsuit.
Toms River, NJ: (Jul-24-07) Barbara Sara, a Jackson resident, brought a lawsuit against state Sen. Robert Singer, alleging that he critically injured her in an accident. Sara, who lived in Jackson at the time, was crossing Route 528, attempting to reach a gas station to buy cigarettes. Sources claim that Singer had been driving home from his legislative office, when his sport utility vehicle struck Sara. Her injuries included a fractured arm, leg, ankles and a concussion. In December 2005, Singer pleaded guilty in municipal court to failing to yield to a pedestrian at an unmarked crosswalk and to careless driving. He was ordered to pay fines and court costs. Singer reached a settlement with Sara, agreeing to pay her $1.175 million. Two insurance companies representing Singer will be responsible for paying for her pain and suffering, any outstanding medical bills and loss of enjoyment of life.
