Frank Noto, Gobbler's Knob Sportsman Club Inc., and Vito Cardinale
Greenville, NY: (Sep-11-07) Troy Corino, 35, a Brick man, brought charges against Frank Noto in federal court in New York, alleging that Noto, of Staten Island, negligently shot him twice with a high-powered rifle. The suit claimed that Corino and Noto were participating in an annual Thanksgiving weekend deer hunt in Greenville, NY, on Nov. 27, 2004. Noto and Corino knew each other and were part of the same hunting group. Following the shootout, sources claimed that Corino underwent multiple surgeries, including reconstructive surgery of the femoral artery and grafting. The suit also named Vito Cardinale, of Staten Island, who was the event's hunting master, and the Gobbler's Knob Sportsman Club Inc., which co-sponsored the event, as defendants.
In a settlement reached before US District Court Judge Cheryl L. Pollak for the Eastern District of New York, Noto agreed to pay $2.8 million, Cardinale will contribute $350,000 and Gobbler's will pay $150,000, making that a combined $3.3 million payout to Corino to resolve his lawsuit.
