Rear Ended
Greenwich, CT: (Oct-17-07) Andrea Tomberg, a town woman, brought a lawsuit against Daniel Hendrie, a police officer, alleging that he rear-ended her sport utility vehicle with his cruiser en route to an emergency call in Chickahominy. Tomberg was driving northbound on Hamilton Avenue on April 6, 2004, in her Lexus SUV when Hendrie's police cruiser struck the right rear corner of her vehicle. She complained of head and neck pain and was treated at Greenwich Hospital. Hendrie was also treated for neck and back pain.
As part of a settlement reached, the Board of Estimate and Taxation unanimously approved paying Tomberg $270,000 to settle the lawsuit she brought against the town. The Board of Selectmen had already agreed to the settlement, which requires final approval from the Representative Town Meeting Claims Committee. Sources stated that the $270,000 will come out of the town's $2.9 million risk fund. [GREENWICH TIME: REAR ENDED]
